Company Overview
AAG Defence Services is an MAA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) based in RAF Brize Norton, UK. We work in partnership with Airbus Aerospace & Defence to supply dedicated MRO services, including heavy and line maintenance, to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of A400M Atlas aircraft. Our dedicated, flexible team of over 100 engineers and managers operate in a 24,000 m², three‑bay facility designed to optimise aircraft maintenance. AAG Defence Services is a subsidiary of Atlantic Aviation Group.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain aircraft and safe use of ground equipment
- Accurately navigate and interpret aircraft maintenance documentation
- Carry out aircraft modifications and light structural work as required
- Comply with organisational policies, AAG DS MOE and supporting manuals
- Identify and rectify existing and potential unsafe conditions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment using a “clean as you go” approach
- Comply with company Safety Management System (SMS) reporting procedures
- Adhere to AAG DS safety policy
- Complete aircraft paperwork to a high standard
- Apply COSHH, working‑at‑height and manual‑handling safety requirements
- Actively embrace a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture
Candidate Requirements
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK (sponsorship not offered)
- Valid aircraft standards‑based qualification (Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3) or aircraft‑related academic qualification/traineeship with minimum four years recorded experience, or satisfy AAG DS training/maintenance management team
- Current Human Factor initial and refresher, EWIS, and SFAR 88 certificate
- Knowledge of aeronautical regulations
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Successful completion of MOD security clearance
Desirable Criteria
- Experience on Airbus, propeller or wide‑body aircraft
- Knowledge of Military Aviation Authority (MAA) MRP Part 145 regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with leadership qualities
- Proficient organisational skills and efficient work approach
- IPAF/MEWP familiarisation
Typical Working Conditions
- Primarily based in Brize Norton, travel may be required
- Shift pattern: 5‑day, 5‑day, 4‑day shift 0700‑1900
- PPE provided by AAG DS and mandatory for all tasks
