We are looking for a Yard Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard, preparing and organising materials and equipment, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries, and ensuring the site is clean, safe, and efficient at all times. Dealing with customers and processing orders.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload vehicles, including equipment, tools, and building materials.
- Keep the yard clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
- Check and maintain stock levels of materials and supplies.
- Operate machinery and equipment daily such as forklifts, loaders, or pressure washers (training provided if required).
- Assist customers or drivers collecting or returning materials.
- Carry out regular maintenance and safety checks on yard tools and equipment.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Support the wider team with deliveries, collections, or workshop duties when required.
- Manufacture and delivery of garden sheds.
- Delivery of products as and when needed using van.
- Handling money and payments through Sage - training provided if required.
- Will require site work, so must also be willing to travel for work when needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have full driving license.
- Must be able to work on own initiative.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills as will be dealing with customers and suppliers daily.
- Ability to do a lot of manual handling.
- Basic computing skills.
- Able to use power tools.
- Trailer and/or Forklift license or willing to obtain one.
Further Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
