The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 Β£ per hour.

The Studio Assistant supports the smooth daily operation of the creative studio, ensuring the workspace is clean, organised, and ready for classes, workshops, and community activities. This role is hands-on and varied, combining practical studio support, materials and equipment management, grounds maintenance, repair work (DIY) and light hospitality duties to help maintain a welcoming, professional environment for all studio users.

Responsibilities

  • The participant will develop skills in setting up, maintaining, and resetting creative studio spaces, ensuring work areas are safe, clean, and ready for daily activities, classes, and events.
  • The participant will gain experience managing art materials and consumables, including organising storage areas, conducting stock takes, monitoring supply levels, and preparing materials for studio use.
  • The participant will learn how to clean, organise, and maintain pottery tools and equipment, identify basic maintenance needs, and follow safe handling and storage procedures.
  • The participant will develop an understanding of safe working practices, including lifting and moving heavy materials, using ladders and basic tools, maintaining clean workspaces, and following studio safety guidelines.
  • The participant will build skills in welcoming participants and visitors, preparing refreshments and simple lunches, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and supporting a positive, professional studio environment.
  • Ground maintenance and basic repair work (DIY).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Comfortable with hands on, physical tasks.
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Interest in creative studios or ceramics (desirable but not required).
  • Friendly, reliable, and organised.

Further Information

  • Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
  • Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
  • Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
