Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople such as joiners, plasterers, and bricklayers with semi-skilled work.
- Carry out basic tasks such as measuring, cutting materials, mixing compounds, or preparing work areas.
- Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision.
- Support installation of fixtures, fittings, and small construction elements.
- Help complete snagging tasks and minor repairs.
- Assist with site preparation, groundworks, and materials handling.
- Adhere to all site safety requirements and report hazards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Intermediate Tool Skills - Using hand and power tools safely (e.g., drills, saws, grinders) and supporting trades with more advanced tasks.
- Measuring and Cutting Materials - Learning how to accurately measure, mark, and cut materials such as timber, plasterboard, or insulation.
- Assisting other trades on site - Supporting joiners, bricklayers, plasterers or groundworkers with semi-skilled activities and learning practical techniques.
- Basic Installation Work - Gaining experience installing fixtures, fittings, studwork, insulation, or site components under supervision.
- Overall knowledge of fundamentals of construction with a willingness and desire to listen and learn.
- Quality Control and Snagging - Understanding how to check work quality, identify defects, and assist with completing snagging tasks.
- Asbestos awareness and ability to identify.
- Valid driving licence.
