The predicted salary is between 10 - 12 £ per hour.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in cricket square and grass maintenance through on-the-job training. The role involves learning the fundamentals of maintaining cricket pitches and squares, including the gradual introduction to operating lawnmowers and other equipment. Over time, the successful candidate will build confidence in grass care and develop proficiency in machinery operation. Responsibilities will also include cutting the outfield two to three times per week, which requires learning a different mower system and technique. We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in grounds maintenance who is eager to learn and grow within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Scarifying the grass.
  • Operating a lawnmower to cut the grass.
  • Re-seeding the pitch.
  • Other pitch maintenance tasks.

As time progresses and skill sets are improved, the successful applicant will be expected to take more ownership of the project and possibly make suggestions of their own to improve the overall job experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A small knowledge of lawnmowers and cutting grass.
  • Ability to work on a task on your own when someone else on the ground is working on a different task.
  • Knowledge of grass growth and soil management would be useful.

Further Information

Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
