The predicted salary is between 500 - 1500 Β£ per month.

The successful candidate will work with our existing team of experienced Support Workers at our SLATE Project. They will complete the necessary training to develop skills that will enable them to provide a range of high-quality services to the young people residing within the SLATE Project.

The role will include learning how to assess risks and produce support plans under the supervision of the team. Working closely with the young people daily, supporting them with any practical, emotional or housing related issues they are experiencing. The successful candidate will support the young people to achieve sufficient independent living skills to eventually move on into a permanent tenancy where they will continue to support the young person if required.

Responsibilities
  • To enable service users to achieve independent living as far as possible by ensuring service users develop the skills needed to attain, maintain and sustain stable housing arrangements.
  • To provide emotional and practical support to service users.
  • To advocate on behalf of service users where necessary and to provide relevant information to everyone.
  • To assist service users to identify their support needs and to work with them to choose the best paths to meet these needs.
  • To assess the housing and support needs of prospective service users who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
  • To assist in the assessment of needs and risk specific to each service user.
  • To encourage service users to set and attain realistic and achievable outcomes.
  • To monitor and record the service users progress by a process of regular review.
  • To advise service users on benefit entitlements and ensure that their income from benefits is maximised.
  • To promote service users' involvement and active participation in the Project.
  • Facilitating service users' meetings and consultation groups.
  • Work with staff to upgrade accommodation after each move on to ensure new young people moving onto the project receive good quality accommodation, which is clean, comfortable & safe.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Experience in using Microsoft programmes, i.e. Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Understanding of professional boundaries & GDPR.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Previous experience of working with young people in a supportive role.
  • Previous experience in housing management.
  • NISCC registered (Registration will be required for this post once training completed).
Further Information

Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
