The predicted salary is between 7 - 12 £ per hour.

The South West Federation was formed in 2015 and comprises 20 Member Practices, with a current patient population of 127,614, covering a large geographical area stretching from Belleek to Plumbridge. The Federation was set up to allow collaboration between member practices, to deliver community-based services for the betterment of all our patients.

We are seeking motivated, detail orientated individuals with good communication skills to fill the role of Trainee Primary Care Administrator which will be based in our member GP Practices. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into a highly desirable career sector.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitor to the practice.
  • Processing telephone requests and in person requests for appointments and telephone consultations, ensuring that all callers are directed to the appropriate health care professional.
  • Book in, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice policy, ensuring optimum efficiency of the appointment system.
  • Operation/updating of computerised information system.
  • General administrative tasks such as electronic filing, photocopying and scanning etc as required.
  • Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection.
  • Prioritise and organise work efficiently.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the practices patients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and practice policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice employee handbook.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent educational standard.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in training deemed necessary for the role.
Further Information

Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
