THE EMPLOYER IS: THE LINK FAMILY AND COMMUNITY CENTRE / THE LINK CHARITY SHOPWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Retail Assistant. The role will involve providing excellent customer service in the shop as well as till operation, sorting donations, merchandising stock, cash handling, opening/closing the shop and helping to maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to all customers.
- Paperwork: Booking collections and deliveries into the diary, answering phones and updating the online selling platforms including Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, etc.
- Till Operation and Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash transactions and operating the till.
- Merchandising: Sorting through donations and merchandising them.
- Shop Operations: Assist with opening and closing the shop and ensuring it is secure and ready for customers.
- Cleaning: To maintain a clean and tidy shop by vacuuming, tidying and general cleaning duties.
- Team Work: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve shop goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform manual handling and lifting tasks safely.
- Flexibility to assist with retail or collection tasks as needed.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or delivery work.
- Knowledge of charity retail operations.
- Driving licence and ability to delivery furniture as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Friendly and professional attitude when dealing with the public.
