THE EMPLOYER IS: MINORITIES BUSINESS NETWORK NIMinorities Business Network NI is a non-profit Organisation who is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Assistant to support our social media. This role is perfect for a highly motivated individual with a passion for entrepreneurship and a talent for digital communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our social media presence, creating engaging content, and fostering member engagement through various digital platforms. Monitor social media activities of mbnni and members, sharing relevant content to our platforms and mailshot to foster a sense of community and collaboration. Engage with members online to increase their visibility and promote their initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Assisting in crafting engaging content for social media, website, and newsletters.
  • Media Relations: Supporting the team with press releases and building relationships with media contacts.
  • Event Support: Helping with the planning and execution of events and workshops.
  • Research & Analysis: Providing insights to help shape marketing strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Passion for the Mission: A genuine interest in marketing, PR, and promoting diversity and inclusion, particularly for ethnic minority businesses in Northern Ireland.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for creating content, engaging with the community, and assisting with media relations.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and time management are essential to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and administrative tasks simultaneously.
  • Social Media Comfort: Being comfortable with social media platforms, including content creation and community engagement, as this is a core part of the role.
  • Basic IT Proficiency: Competency with basic IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with graphic design (e.g., using platforms like Canva).
  • Familiarity with website content management systems.
  • Previous experience (even if informal, voluntary, or through coursework/personal projects) in a marketing, communications, or public relations role.

The Employer is: MINORITIES BUSINESS NETWORK NIJobStart Opportunity – Working Hours Information- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
