DSP Supermarkets T/A Kellys Stores seeks a Retail Supervisor/Manager. Oversees daily store operations, leads the team, ensures excellent customer service, and drives sales performance. Manages staff, maintains store standards, handles operational tasks, and contributes to a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and motivate staff; coordinate schedules; assign tasks; provide coaching, feedback, and training; assist with recruitment and performance reviews.
- Ensure exceptional service, handle escalated queries, maintain a welcoming environment, and drive loyalty programs, promotions and service initiatives.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling and store security; ensure compliance with policies, health and safety and maintain accurate records.
- Achieve sales targets and KPIs, analyze data, implement improvement plans, and lead promotions, product launches and merchandising strategies.
- Maintain attractive displays, manage stock levels, monitor rotation (FIFO), reduce waste/shrinkage and implement planograms accurately.
- Enforce safe working practices, train staff on safety procedures, and respond to hazards or incidents.
- Other duties as and when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in retail (strongly preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to manage conflict.
- Good understanding of retail operations, merchandising and inventory control.
- Competent with POS systems and basic IT tools (e.g., Excel, email, scheduling systems).
- Previous experience in a similar job would be advantageous.
