We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Marketing and Communications Assistant to join our fast-paced, full-service marketing and communications agency. As a Marketing & Communications Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our team in executing effective marketing and communication strategies and ensuring smooth operations within our agency. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will gain valuable experience in the field of marketing and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support Marketing and Communications teams: Assist the team in implementing strategic marketing and communication plans, including drafting and editing content for various channels such as press releases, social media, website, and email campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with team members to develop engaging and compelling written content that aligns with client objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor media channels, including online publications, social media platforms, and industry specific outlets, to identify relevant news, trends, and opportunities for our clients.
  • Social Media & Website Management: Maintaining clients’ social media accounts and websites, including drafting and scheduling posts, updating webpages, and responding to comments and messages to maintain an active online presence.
  • Event Coordination: Supporting the planning and delivery of events, including logistics, registration promotion, and post-event evaluation.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, target audiences, and competitors to contribute to the development of effective communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the team, including office management, scheduling of meetings, coordinating logistics for events, preparing reports, and maintaining project documentation.
  • Proofreading and Editing: Review and proofread communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using various communication and collaboration tools.
  • Media Monitoring and Analysis: Skilled in monitoring print, online, social media, and broadcast channels. Able to analyse coverage, track mentions, and assess communication impact. Proficient in media monitoring tools.
  • Content Creation and Editing: Creating and editing a wide range of communication material, including press releases, newsletters, reports, and presentations. Knowledge of grammar, style guides, and communication best practices to ensure clarity.
  • Event Coordination and Management: Experienced in planning and managing events including press launches and promotions. Skilled in logistics, vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, guest list management, and ensuring smooth event execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in engaging with media, clients, staff, and the public. Experienced in building relationships, managing inquiries, and facilitating clear communication between the organisation and its stakeholders.
  • Crisis Communication Management: Skilled in creating crisis plans, responding to media inquiries quickly, and coordinating internal/external messaging to protect the organisation’s reputation during challenging situations.
