Wallace Park Indoor Tennis Centre is seeking a receptionist / trainee junior coach to join the team. This office-based role combines front-of-house reception duties with on-court support and the development of new business and income streams. The position is ideal for someone seeking to build experience in sports administration, customer service, coaching support, and small business development within a busy tennis centre.
The role includes opportunities to assist with income-generating activities such as pickleball mixer tournaments, match play events, holiday camps, junior club nights, after-school mini tennis clubs, and racket stringing services. The successful applicant will also help develop and promote new business streams and projects linked to the centre, including online and product-based initiatives. Full training will be provided, including First Aid and Fire Marshal training. Daily on-court development will take place by assisting coaches and participating in lessons. Additional training in Canva, Photoshop, and Excel will also be provided.
Responsibilities- Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries from the public.
- Opening the building and assisting with keeping the centre tidy.
- Maintaining membership records and processing re-enrolments.
- Basic social media posting and monitoring responses.
- Carrying out routine facility checks (fire, dome, toilets), carrying out monthly ball culls, and supporting Access NI compliance and promotional activities such as TNT promotion.
- Basic IT skills.
- The ability to work reliably within a structured environment.
- Applicants must be willing to learn, take instruction, and show initiative.
- Interest in tennis and pickleball.
- Experience or interest in coaching.
- Familiarity with social media, Canva, Photoshop, or Excel would be advantageous.
- Previous reception, administrative, or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required.
Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours may be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
