The predicted salary is between 12 - 13 Β£ per hour.

Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy. Maintain daily open communication with parents, arrange, organise, plan and supervise play and activities for children age 4-12. Arrange team games and sports, drama, music and other entertainments, supervise art & crafts activities and in some cases take children on day trips and outings.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with injuries and emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Report any suspected abuse to supervisor.
  • Arrange room environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials.
  • Attend staff training and staff meetings.
  • Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
  • Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
  • Prepare monthly plan charts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and support children's development.
  • Knowledge of the importance of play in children's development and how to create a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with children and their families.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.

Further Information

Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
