The House to Home programme supports vulnerable people who have been homeless or who are at risk of repeat homelessness by providing a 2‑day intervention to sustain long‑term tenancies. As a House to Home Trainee you will work alongside the House to Home Supervisor to deliver the programme through painting and light‑touch repairs. Full training and mentoring will be provided, and you will have the opportunity to support broader Habitat for Humanity activities such as schools/youth engagement, ReStore Operations or event awareness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a work area for painting and decorating, including the use of dust sheets.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including removing wallpaper.
- Paint using both brushes and rollers.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- Clean and store tools and equipment after work.
- Attend assessments and deliver toolbox basics training with the House to Home Supervisor.
- Support other tasks on House to Home and in the Habitat ReStore as required.
- Attend appropriate training as required.

Further Information
- Standard hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/reduced hours may be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional hours may be offered depending on availability.
- Salary depends on age: 16‑17: £7.55 per hour; 18‑20: £10.00 per hour; 21+: £12.21 per hour.
- Job Sector: Construction, Trades and Architecture.
- Location: Lisburn, Co Antrim.
- Contract Type: Temporary, weekly hours 25.
- Worktime: Monday to Saturday, hours between 9 am‑5 pm (flexible).
