We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our production team with dish-washing, packing finished products, stock management and maintaining excellent food hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Food Hygiene & Safety - Learning proper hygiene standards, safe food handling, cleaning procedures, and compliance with food safety regulations within a food production kitchen.
- Product Packing & Presentation - Gaining hands‑on experience in packing finished products for retail and wholesale, including portioning, sealing, and checking presentation against quality standards.
- Ingredient & Materials Stock Handling - Learning how to monitor ingredient and packaging stock levels, rotate materials, and maintain clean, organised kitchen and storage areas.
- Food Preparation & Recipe Execution - Developing practical skills in weighing, measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to set recipes and production instructions to ensure consistent product outcomes.
- Operation of Kitchen & Packing Equipment - Learning to safely setup, operate, clean, and shut down kitchen and packing equipment such as mixers, cutters, scales, and sealing machines in line with production requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to follow food safety rules, prevent cross‑contamination, and carry out cleaning schedules in line with food safety regulations.
Further Information
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
