The predicted salary is between 10 - 12 £ per hour.
This role will support day-to-day site operations by assisting tradespeople, maintaining site cleanliness, handling materials, and learning the basics of construction. It is designed to give someone practical experience in a construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Maintain site cleanliness and ensure safe walkways.
- Help set up and dismantle work areas.
- Move materials around the site as required.
- Assist with deliveries, waste disposal, and storing tools correctly.
Skills and Qualifications
- Site Safety Awareness - Understanding on-site safety procedures, use of PPE, hazard identification, and safe working practices under supervision.
- Manual Handling & Materials Movement - Learning correct techniques for lifting, carrying, and moving construction materials safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of manual handling.
- Basic Tool Use - Developing skills in using basic hand tools (hammers, saws, shovels, tape measures) and assisting with simple construction tasks.
- Teamwork and Communication Skills - Building confidence in working as part of a construction team, following instructions, and communicating effectively on site.
- Time Management and Task Organisation - Developing the ability to prioritise tasks, organise materials, and complete work efficiently to site deadlines.
- Valid driving licence.
Further Information
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
