We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner / Kitchen hand to join our busy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our restaurant & kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the hospitality and culinary sectors, with potential pathways into food preparation, cooking and other restaurant roles.

The cleaner / kitchen hand will be responsible for supporting the restaurant and kitchen staff by managing cleaning duties and assisting with basic preparation tasks as required.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all Restaurant and Kitchen areas are clean and tidy, including restaurant floors, customer toilets, work surfaces, utensils and equipment are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Assist with the washing of dishes, pots, pans and other kitchenware efficiently and promptly.
  • Support food preparation activities by assisting with basic tasks such as peeling, chopping or organising ingredients under supervision.
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
  • Help with the organisation of storage areas to ensure items are stored safely and correctly.
  • Support the overall cleanliness of the restaurant & kitchen environment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Assist with other general duties as directed by senior staff to facilitate smooth service delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to maintain strict hygiene standards.
  • Working efficiently in fast-paced environments, and demonstrating physical stamina.
  • Previous experience with dealing with the public and customer service.

Job Start Opportunity - Working Hours Information:

  • Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
  • Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
  • Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
