The Customer Service Advisor is the first point of contact for members, providing a high quality, friendly, and accurate service. The role supports members with account enquiries, transactions, and general credit union services while promoting the values of community, integrity, and member-first service.
The role involves assisting members with transactions, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Basic computer skills and cash handling experience are desirable.
Responsibilities- Provide a welcome to all members in person, by phone.
- Handle day to day enquiries relating to accounts, balances, withdrawals, lodgements, and general credit union products.
- Support members in updating personal details, nominations, and direct debits.
- Process member transactions accurately, including lodgements, withdrawals, transfers, and loan repayments.
- Balance cash drawer daily and follow all cash-handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and security procedures.
- Follow all policies and procedures including AML, GDPR, and safeguarding of member information.
- Maintain accurate records and always uphold confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Good numeracy skills and confidence with cash handling.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise accordingly.
- Willingness to learn, ability to work as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Experience in customer service, administration, banking, or similar environment.
- IT skills and willingness to learn credit union systems.
Job Start Opportunity - Working Hours Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
