The predicted salary is between 1040 - 1248 £ per month.
This JobStart placement will provide the opportunity to gain work experience in administration and reception duties within a community and voluntary sector setting. The post holder will be supported to develop office, customer service, and employability skills.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, service users, volunteers, and partner organisations, providing a friendly and professional reception service.
- Answer and direct telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide general administrative support including filing, photocopying, scanning, data entry, and maintaining records.
- Assist with room bookings, visitor sign-in, and day-to-day operation of the community building.
- Support staff with preparation of documents, correspondence, and basic reports.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in line with data protection requirements.
- Assist with organising meetings, training sessions, and events, including room set-up where required.
- Ensure reception and communal areas are tidy, welcoming, and well-presented.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the services of Mid Ulster Volunteer Centre.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and level of experience.
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to use email and common office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook).
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage routine tasks effectively.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
- Previous experience in an office, reception, or customer service environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, or Outlook.
- Experience of dealing with the public or working in a customer-focused role.
- Basic experience of record keeping, data entry, or using databases.
- Interest in the community, voluntary, or charity sector.
- Ability to use office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
- Confidence in learning new systems and procedures.
Further Information
Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
