We are seeking an individual to help maintain the beauty and safety of our outdoor project spaces. As a vital member of our grounds team, you will ensure our site remains a welcoming environment. This is a hands-on, physically active role that requires a flexible "can-do" attitude; you should be comfortable with heavy lifting and happy to assist with various other duties as requested to ensure the smooth daily operation of the project.
Responsibilities
- Routine maintenance such as grass cutting, leaf-blowing, seasonal planting, and general tidying.
- Play a key role in the success of our community programs by supporting the Project Manager with the setup and breakdown of group activities and events.

Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to undertake manual labour in an outdoor environment, including the ability to lift and move heavy equipment or furniture safely.
- Applicants must complete a satisfactory Access NI check before commencing the role.
- Proven experience (professional or significant DIY) using basic garden machinery such as lawnmowers, strimmers, and leaf blowers.
- The ability to work to a schedule, particularly ensuring that activity spaces are set up and ready before groups arrive.
- A basic understanding of how to work safely around the public and how to handle tools without risk to self or others.
- Ability to take direction from the Project Manager and communicate effectively with a diverse range of site users.
- A basic understanding of plants, weeding, and seasonal planting cycles beyond simple maintenance.
- Basic "handyperson" skills, such as fence painting, simple timber repairs, or clearing gutters.
- Previous experience working or volunteering within a community-focused or non-profit organization.
Further Information
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
