We are seeking a Trainee Events and PR Assistant who is keen to build a career in the fast-paced and rewarding world of events and communications. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy agency environment, supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of events, campaigns and client projects. You will develop strong communication and relationship-building skills while working closely with colleagues, clients, suppliers and media contacts, with attention to detail, organisation and a proactive approach being key to success. From assisting with event logistics and live activations to supporting media relations and content development, this role provides broad exposure across PR and event management and a strong foundation for future career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Event Director in planning and delivering both company owned and client events.
- Liaise with suppliers and venues to coordinate event logistics.
- Assist with event budgeting, expense tracking and cost-effective planning.
- Participate in planning meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Compile guest lists, send invitations and manage follow-up communications.
- Provide on-site event support, including guest registration and logistics management.
- Assist in post-event analysis, gathering feedback and compiling reports.
- Schedule meetings, take minutes and prepare contact reports.
- Conduct research and data collection to support client projects.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks to support the wider PR and events team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree in PR, Communications, or Event Management (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel and familiarity with social media platforms.
- A knowledge of PR, media or events.
- A clean driving licence and access to a car would be beneficial for travel to client meetings and events.
Further Information:
Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
