The Publicity & Marketing Assistant will work with the organisation’s external marketing consultant to support internal sales, marketing and PR/comms activity. The role will help ensure the organisation maintains a consistent public presence across digital platforms, supports campaign delivery, captures content at events, and assists staff with local media liaison and PR placements.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping the organisation’s social media channels up to date.
  • Updating the website with new content and ensuring information is accurate and current.
  • Attending events and creating content, including posts, photos and written updates.
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of marketing campaigns.
  • Supporting staff with PR placements and liaison with local media.
  • Working collaboratively with the external marketing consultant to support internal marketing and communications activity.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Digital marketing and social media management.
  • Ability to manage and update social channels, plan and schedule content, and understand audience engagement.
  • Ability to produce engaging written and visual content, and communicate key messages clearly and professionally.
  • Confidence updating websites, uploading content, editing pages, and maintaining consistent branding and accessibility.
  • Ability to support marketing campaigns from concept through delivery, including timelines, coordination, and audience targeting.
  • Ability to support press releases, liaise with local media, assist with publicity placements, and communicate professionally with external contacts.
  • Experience attending events and capturing content in real time for social media.
  • Familiarity with content scheduling tools and basic marketing planning processes.
  • Confidence working with multiple internal stakeholders (staff, creatives, consultants).
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to manage varied tasks and deadlines.
  • Interest in PR, communications, storytelling and public-facing brand activity.

Further Information

  • Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
  • Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
  • Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
