This is a supported, entry-level JobStart role designed to help a young person gain practical experience in community sports and cultural delivery within a diverse and inclusive voluntary organisation. The role focuses on confidence-building, teamwork, communication, and employability skills through hands-on learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with delivery of community sports and cultural activities.
  • Support session and event set-up and pack-down.
  • Welcome and support participants during activities.
  • Record attendance and assist with basic monitoring.
  • Support staff, coaches, and volunteers during sessions.
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and equality procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Interest in sport, culture, or community activity.
  • Willingness to work with and support people from diverse backgrounds, including host community members, ethnic minority communities, asylum seekers, and refugees.
  • Interest in community development or coaching.
  • Previous volunteering or participation in sport or cultural activity.

JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information: Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
