Community Shop Assistant roles within a community-focused charity shop, combining customer service, shop floor duties and sorting room work. The post holders will support the daily running of the shop, help process donations, and contribute to creating a welcoming, safe and positive environment for customers, volunteers and the wider community. Full training and support will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience, develop employability skills, and build confidence in a supportive community environment. Responsibilities:
- Carrying out daily shop and sorting room tasks efficiently and safely.
- Providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Handling stock, donations and shop equipment responsibly.
- Following health, safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Working cooperatively with staff and volunteers.
- Representing the values and aims of Tremor Wise Limited CIC.
- Maintaining confidentiality and respecting customers and donors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work as part of a small team.
- Ability to work safely and follow health & safety guidance.
- Previous experience in retail, charity shops or customer service.
- Confidence speaking with members of the public.
- Interest in community or voluntary work.
- Basic cash handling or till experience.
- An interest in developing employability and workplace skills.
Further Information:
Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
