The Marketing Support Assistant supports the promotion of NNCG’s charitable activities, community markets, programmes, events, and retail activity. This is a role designed to give hands-on experience in digital marketing and communications. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this role suitable for someone at the start of their career or looking to build confidence and skills in marketing. Hybrid home working may be available after training, subject to experience and a suitable home working environment with reliable internet access.
The role involves working within a small team and a shared workspace. The office is based upstairs and is accessed by stairs only, with no lift available. The office is also home to a friendly office cat.
Responsibilities- Assisting with creating basic digital content for social media and digital platforms, including images, videos, captions, and short written posts.
- Supporting the scheduling of social media content and helping manage simple content calendars using job-specific digital tools.
- Assisting with basic social media engagement activity under supervision.
- Helping prepare simple promotional materials for community markets, programmes, events, and retail activity.
- Assisting with collecting, organising, and maintaining images, information, and digital marketing materials.
- Supporting the organisation of digital folders and marketing assets.
- Assisting with basic marketing and administrative tasks as required.
- Learning about brand tone, messaging, and audience engagement within a charitable context.
- Contributing ideas and suggestions as confidence and experience develop.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Previous use of social media platforms, either personally, through study, volunteering, or work.
- An interest in marketing, communications, or digital content.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake training and learn new digital tools, systems, and processes.
- Ability to follow instructions and brand guidelines.
- Organised approach to work.
- Previous experience using social media specifically for marketing, promotion, or content creation, whether through work, volunteering, study, or personal projects.
- Confidence using Canva or similar simple design tools to create visual content.
- A creative approach, with an interest in visual storytelling and presenting information in an engaging and audience-appropriate way.
- Ability to use own initiative, manage simple tasks independently, and contribute ideas or suggestions as confidence and experience develop.
Job Start Opportunity – Working Hours Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: may be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: may be offered depending on availability – discuss directly with the employer before starting employment.
