The Admin Support Assistant role provides structured, entry level experience in administrative and organisational tasks within Seasons of the Glens CIC, a social enterprise supporting food production, retail activity, and community focused projects. The role is designed to help participants build confidence in office systems, communication, and day to day administrative processes while working under supervision. The role may also include limited, supervised exposure to food production support activities, helping participants gain an understanding of how administrative functions link to food production and retail operations. Hybrid home working may be available after training, subject to experience and a suitable home working environment with reliable internet access. The role involves working within a small team and a shared upstairs workspace (no lift available). The office is home to a friendly office cat.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting basic filing and document organisation, both digital and paper based.
  • Assisting with invoicing administration, including preparing invoices, checking information, and supporting payment tracking under supervision.
  • Supporting basic financial administration tasks, such as recording payments and organising related documentation.
  • Assisting with email correspondence and internal communications under guidance.
  • Supporting scheduling, checklists, and routine administrative tasks.
  • Helping maintain organised digital folders, spreadsheets, and records.
  • Supporting administrative and preparation tasks related to food production under supervision, including record keeping, labelling documentation, and stock or batch records.
  • Learning general office procedures, confidentiality requirements, food safety awareness, and good administrative practice.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using everyday office software.
  • Previous experience using email and basic digital systems, either personally, through study, volunteering, or work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, processes, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Willingness to undertake training and learn new systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work under supervision and ask for guidance when needed.
  • Any previous experience in an administrative, clerical, or office support role.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, invoicing, or basic record keeping tasks.
  • Any previous exposure to food handling, food preparation environments, or food related compliance, whether through work, training, or volunteering.
  • Ability to use own initiative on simple tasks as confidence and experience develop.

JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information:

  • Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
  • Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
