Overview
Kitchen Assistant supports the Chef in the preparation of food, maintenance of cleanliness, and overall smooth operation of the kitchen. The role involves assisting the Chef with basic food preparation, washing dishes and equipment, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are consistently followed. The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in maintaining an efficient, clean, and safe kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel and prepare food ingredients and simple dishes.
- Use equipment and utensils such as mixers, food processors, hot plates, oven, knives and cutters.
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment.
- Clean workstations and storage areas.
- Empty bins and recycle properly.
- Upload fresh supplies and organise stockroom, fridge and freezer, keeping them tidy.
- Check expiry dates and rotate food stock.
- Follow food safety and hygiene rules.
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work well as part of a team.

Job Start Opportunity - Working Hours Information: Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
