We are offering a JobStart placement opportunity for a Production Fitter. This role is ideal for a person who is interested in engineering, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly and is keen to gain hands-on experience in a production environment. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced staff and receive full training and supervision throughout the placement. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the assembly and fitting of mild steel components.
- Using hand tools and basic power tools under supervision.
- Supporting production line and workshop activities.
- Measuring, aligning, and fitting parts accurately.
- Reading and following basic engineering drawings and instructions.
- Carrying out quality checks on assembled components.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working area.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Assisting with general production and workshop duties as required.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Problem-solving skills.
- Basic numeracy and measuring skills.
- Awareness of health and safety in a workshop or production environment.
- Physical ability to carry out manual tasks in a production setting.
- An interest in engineering, manufacturing, or mechanical work.
Further Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
