We are a well-established mild steel engineering business based in Northern Ireland, specialising in the cutting, forming, and fabrication of steel components for industrial and commercial clients.
We are offering a Job Start placement opportunity for a CNC Plant Operator to work with modern machinery including CNC Plasma cutting machines, CNC Rollers, and CNC Press Brakes. This role is ideal for a person with an interest in engineering, manufacturing, or computer-controlled machinery. Full training and close supervision will be provided throughout the placement. No previous CNC experience is required as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities- Assisting in the operation of CNC machinery (Plasma, Roller, and Press) under supervision.
- Loading and unloading mild steel materials safely.
- Learning how to set up machines and select correct programmes.
- Monitoring machines during operation to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Carrying out basic quality checks on finished components.
- Using measuring tools to check dimensions and tolerances.
- Following production schedules and work instructions.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting general workshop and production duties as required.
- A strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or CNC machinery.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Basic numeracy and measuring skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Job Start Opportunity - Working Hours Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
- Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
