We are a well-established mild steel engineering business based in Northern Ireland, providing fabrication and manufacturing services to industrial and commercial clients.
We are offering a JobStart placement opportunity for an Accounts / Admin Assistant. This role is ideal for a person interested in developing experience in office administration, accounts support, and general business operations within an engineering environment. Full training and ongoing support will be provided throughout the placement. No previous accounts or office experience is required as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with day-to-day office and administrative tasks.
- Supporting basic accounts functions such as filing invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
- Entering data into accounting software (SAGE) and spreadsheet systems accurately.
- Assisting with customer and supplier queries via phone and email.
- Maintaining organised digital and paper filing systems.
- Supporting payroll, timesheets, or expense records under supervision.
- Assisting with stock, job, or production paperwork.
- Ensuring confidentiality of financial and business information.
- Following company procedures and health & safety guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
- An interest in accounts, administration, or business operations.
- Basic IT skills, including use of email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Good numeracy and attention to detail.

JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information:
- Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
