In 2024, afrorama is looking to build on the successes of its prototype to scale the #AfricaJobsBoard into a web-based platform. This platform will include:

  • African impact opportunities
  • Resources on interview preparation, CV-writing and industry trends
  • A CV bank service to submit your CV to be matched with prospective employers and the opportunity to rate organisations
  • Opportunities to network and engage in peer-to-peer mentorship

To scale its jobs board, afrorama is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented part-time Project Officer. This internship is an opportunity to get hands-on 6-month part-time project management experience while creating a lasting and positive impact!

Under the direct responsibility of afrorama founder Chloé Bertrand, the Project Officer will work through the project cycle and manage the following tasks:

  • LinkedIn and email marketing: Curate and prepare 26 weekly newsletters over the 6 months;
  • Data and website management: Source, and upload data and opportunities on our website management tool;
  • Grant management: Monitor and evaluate the #AfricaJobsBoard website launch and manage donor reporting;
  • Business development: Implement sales strategy and source new clients;
  • Community Engagement: Launch and manage monthly community engagement activity;
  • Content creation: Work with partners to create social media/blog content.

The following skills/competencies/knowledge of digital tools will be strengthened through this experience:

  • Project management cycle
  • M&E processes
  • Google Workspace products (with a particular focus on Google Sheets)
  • Zapier (automation tool)
  • Webflow (website design and management tool)

What we are looking for:

  • A student who can commit 10 hours a week, based in London.
  • A proactive and curious individual who is passionate about social mobility and social impact.
  • A native English speaker, knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is a plus.

Due to funding constraints, please note that this position is currently unpaid. However, the Project Officer will be paid a 10% commission for every new client they secure.
