Hinckley-Finlayson High School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Dean of Students/Behavioral Interventionist Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This position will work with Junior High students and teachers as a Dean of Students, facilitate the utilization of evidence-based and positive behaviour practices that support students in the classroom, assist teachers through developing individualised interventions, implement restorative justice practices, and provide support with corrective teaching.

Job Functions:
- Serve as a Dean of Students for our junior high student population (grades 7-9).
- Assist with IEP meetings.
- Develop equitable systems by leading positive behaviour programmes and strategies for students in the classroom.
- Develop interventions, functional behaviour assessments, and behaviour plans to provide a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviours.
- Communicate with appropriate teachers and district staff regarding behaviour matters.
- Support teachers and staff while building a positive school climate to meet the needs of various students.
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.
- Participate in grade level team meetings and professional development.
- Collect and maintain behavioural data.
- Assist the building principal and dean in handling minor behavioural issues, working with students, and collaborating with parents.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and committees supporting students in the MTSS process.
- Adhere to district policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.
- Coordinate and facilitate lunch and after-school detention.
- Promote a positive behavioural support mindset among staff and students.
- Other duties as assigned.
