We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing state and federal grants, demonstrating a deep understanding of grant regulations, compliance, and reporting procedures. Additionally, strong data analysis skills are essential to extract insights from complex datasets to inform strategic decisions and program evaluation.

General Definition of Work: The Behavioral Health Coordinator supports the leadership team in providing mental health services to students, staff, and families within our educational organization. This role involves assessing needs, planning initiatives, coordinating curriculum and services, and monitoring for consistency and efficiency. Building internal relationships and community partnerships is key to ensuring resources are available to support the needs of students, families, and staff.

Essential Functions:

  1. Collaborate with, coach, and train staff, families, and students on developmentally appropriate and culturally affirming social-emotional learning (SEL) programs.
  2. Research and provide professional development opportunities to build educator capacity for SEL and creating inclusive learning environments.
  3. Integrate and maintain support systems across school, family, and community settings.
  4. Manage and train on data systems that support continuous improvement of student outcomes.
  5. Seek out and apply for grants to support mental health initiatives and curriculum development.
  6. Research and train staff on equity-centered discipline practices supporting restorative approaches and reducing disparities.
  7. Lead professional development on Trauma-Informed Practices and coaching opportunities.
  8. Coordinate with schools, county, and state agencies on services and data management for homelessness, foster care, families in transition, attendance, and truancy.
  9. Support district initiatives related to chemical health policies, grants, and teaching practices in coordination with relevant agencies.
  10. Represent the district on the Rice County Family Services Collaborative Governing Board and maintain relationships within the community.
  11. Support the mental health services team by providing professional development and leading district mental health goals.
  12. Handle and lead crisis situations as necessary.
  13. Support district staff and student well-being; serve as chair of the Wellness Committee and Co-Chair of the District Mental Health Committee.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits: The position offers a salary commensurate with experience, approximately $98,653 for a 230-day contract.
