We’re working on an exciting opportunity with our client, a public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit an HR Policy Advisor on a contract basis to join their collaborative and forward-thinking People & Culture team. In this high-impact role, you'll lead the development, review, and implementation of HR policies that support strategic goals, ensure legal compliance, and reflect the council’s values of fairness, inclusion, and performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the review and development of People & Culture policies and procedures in line with employment law and best practice
- Advise on legislative changes and their impact on current policies
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including trade unions, legal teams, and service managers to ensure policies are clear, practical, and aligned with organisational needs
- Provide expert policy advice to senior leaders and HR business partners
What We're Looking For:
- Full CIPD membership
- Strong experience in HR policy development and employee relations, particularly within unionised environments
- Ability to translate complex HR and legal frameworks into accessible policies
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
