We are seeking a multi-skilled and experienced individual to provide technical services to ensure the successful presentation of a wide programme of professional and community performances.

You will be responsible for rigging, operating, and de-rigging lighting, sound, stage and AV equipment for rehearsals and performances, duty stage management, simple maintenance of equipment, and supervision of casual staff, visiting companies and community users.

This is a great opportunity for a highly organised individual, with a proven track record of having worked in a theatre environment. A good working knowledge of QLab and AV would be advantageous.

Good verbal communication skills are required as you will be communicating with professional companies and community hirers. You must also be able to demonstrate your ability to work effectively as part of a busy and committed team. Flexibility is vital as you will be required to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. You must also have your own transport as you will be required to work late when public transport is not available.

In return you will benefit from 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 after 5 years’ service), subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees, and an entitlement to join the local government pension scheme.

The Playhouse is managed by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council. We aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.
