Mechanical and Electrical Manager (M&E Manager)

Location: Derby

Salary: c£50k – £62k neg dep exp + benefits

Our established and highly successful niche sector client offers a range of highest quality services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide. Due to continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and professional Mechanical and Electrical Manager (M&E Manager) to oversee the supply chain operation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Co-ordinating and attending site surveys at both tender and project delivery stages.
  2. Assisting in evaluating M&E supplier proposals and generating proposals for M&E requirements.
  3. Producing technical and delivery requirements for supplier quotations and conducting evaluations.
  4. Attending design meetings (along with design sub-contractor as required).
  5. Providing support to the Site Supervisor in site progress meetings.
  6. Assisting the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and completion of the M&E sub-contract works, managing supplier progress and performance, ensuring alignment with project plans.
  7. Managing the production of designs (by supplier) such as equipment locations, installation designs, equipment designs, etc.
  8. Managing M&E FAT’s and reviewing all relevant documentation.
  9. Managing the co-ordination of designers and installers (which may be different sub-contractors).
  10. Reviewing site test documentation and RAMS.
  11. Managing site supervisors for M&E works and all aspects of installation handover, as well as all associated members of the team including Commissioning Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, and CAD Engineers.

Qualifications:

The successful Mechanical and Electrical Manager (M&E Manager) candidate will demonstrate at least 4 years previous experience in a similar role, be SSTS and CSCS qualified, and be familiar with electrical infrastructure and electrical principles normally associated with projects in transportation, power, or comparable sizable projects from other sectors.

With a good level of IT proficiency (Excel and Word mandatory), you will be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of different tasks and to work extra hours as required.
