Job Description

Food Technology Technician Near Royston, Hertfordshire £15.00 - £17.00 per hour Full Time | Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP

REED Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school near Royston to recruit a Food Technology Technician on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, organised individual to support the Food Technology department, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students have access to a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients, equipment and teaching resources for Food Technology lessons.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised food preparation environment.
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as required.
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workspaces.
  • Supporting teaching staff with practical classroom activities when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working as a Food Technology Technician is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety regulations and food preparation procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage stock and resources effectively.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the department.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Competitive hourly rate of £15.00 - £17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
