Functional Skills Teacher
Peterlee & Stanley
4 Days Per Week (Monday to Thursday)

Reed FE is currently seeking a dedicated and engaging Functional Skills Teacher to support learners aged 14+ across sites in Peterlee and Stanley on a temporary basis.
The role will involve delivering Functional Skills qualifications and supporting learners to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to progress into further education, training or employment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Functional Skills lessons to learners aged 14+.
- Plan engaging and inclusive sessions tailored to individual learner needs.
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Support learners to achieve their educational and employability goals.
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma or equivalent).
- Experience delivering Functional Skills.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
