The Building Services Engineer role centres on producing recommendations for full replacement, refurbishment, upgrade, or ongoing maintenance of building services systems.

Your technical focus
- Develop strategies to reduce the risk of power outages, heating failures, and other critical service disruptions
- Produce technical reports, risk assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering recommendations
- Analyse asset failures and maintenance data to identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements
- Identify single points of failure and develop solutions to improve estate resilience and business continuity
- This technically focused role is responsible for assessing the condition, performance, and reliability of M&E assets, determining whether systems require full redesign and replacement, targeted refurbishment, or individual component replacement
Skills & experience
- A qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, while you’ll need experience assessing and managing mechanical and electrical building services assets
- With the ability to translate technical findings into practical solutions
- You’ll need experience within large or complex estates, public sector, healthcare, education, or commercial property environments
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heating infrastructure, electrical distribution systems, standby power, and building controls
- You’ll need experience conducting condition surveys and making lifecycle replacement recommendations
- Knowledge of asset management and infrastructure resilience planning
- D Building Services Engineer to support the management and improvement of our estate's mechanical and electrical infrastructure
