We are supporting our client to appoint an experienced Interim Admissions Manager to provide short‑term leadership and operational stability within a high‑volume admissions environment. This role will take ownership of end‑to‑end admissions activity, overseeing regulated application routes and complex decision‑making processes, and ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent, compliant, and delivered to demanding timeframes. The assignment is initially for 12 months, with a requirement for 3–4 days on site during the initial phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and people leadership across all admissions activity, ensuring adherence to regulatory, contractual, and policy frameworks.
  • Manage the planning and delivery of a full annual admissions cycle, including offer management, deadline activity, confirmation and clearing‑style processes, and embargo controls.
  • Oversee direct entry and postgraduate‑style admissions routes, ensuring efficient processing and clear, high‑quality applicant communications.
  • Quality‑assure complex admissions decisions, including fee status assessments, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), non‑standard qualifications, and sensitive or exceptional cases.
  • Act as the primary organisational contact for external admissions and visa‑related systems, including responsibility for user compliance and governance.
  • Maintain accurate, timely admissions data to support enrolment readiness, forecasting, and statutory or regulatory reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance to admissions teams and senior stakeholders on policy interpretation, regulatory compliance, and applicant decision‑making.
  • Contribute to service continuity, system optimisation, process mapping, and short‑term improvement initiatives during the interim period.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven senior‑level admissions experience within Higher Education, or substantial admissions management experience in a regulated education environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UCAS processes and cycles, including confirmation and clearing‑style activity.
  • Demonstrable experience working with UKVI sponsorship requirements, including CAS issuance and compliance oversight.
  • Confidence managing complex regulatory frameworks (e.g. fairness, transparency, equality, consumer and governance requirements).
  • Proven ability to lead teams through peak operational periods and sensitive decision‑making scenarios.
  • Comfortable operating at pace in an interim capacity, providing assurance, continuity, and clear leadership from day one.
