The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are looking for someone with an enthusiastic and flexible attitude who has experience in sample preparation, DNA/RNA Extraction, culturing, gel electrophoresis, or PCR. You will be a key member of the technical team, training staff and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Perform routine genomic techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, culturing, and harvesting of cells, FISH. Use and maintenance of specialised equipment and robotics. Requisitioning of general laboratory consumables.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy Genomics Laboratory, and we are looking for Healthcare Science Practitioners to join our technical team. We encourage candidates who are considering a career in Biomedical Science, but do not have an undergraduate degree, to still apply; as this role can be adapted to align with the Level 6 apprenticeship pathway, where alongside your full-time position, a BSc in Biomedical Science (IBMS accredited) can be obtained over a 4-year period. Please note this is subject to certain acceptance criteria.

The Laboratory is part of the East NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub. This is one of seven Genomic Hubs established to provide the National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England, led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester.
