Key Tasks include:
- Be fully conversant with the facilities, services, and special promotions offered by the hotel and pass this information on to the guest whenever possible to maximize hotel sales.
- Ensure awareness of hotel availability and take every opportunity to maximize room sales.
- Anticipate guest needs, act upon, and follow up guest requests, delivering a level of service and responsiveness that generates compliments.
- Ensure all charges are correctly posted to the guest\’s bills following standard procedures.
- Deal with cash, cheque, and credit transactions in accordance with hotel and company policy; ensure any discrepancies are reported immediately.
- Ensure all messages received for guests are passed on accurately and as quickly as possible.
- Ensure communication procedures are effective and efficient day-to-day to maintain service standards.
- Develop positive and effective communication between the Guest Services team and Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Reservation teams.
- Have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest, and special events, and know where further information can be obtained.
- Develop interactive customer relations and be aware of any possible future requirements, relaying such information to your manager to enhance customer expectations.
- Ensure personal data and credit card information are handled as per GDPR and PCI rules.

- Professional appearance and a sense of humor.
- Fluency in English.
- NICE TO HAVE: Hotel reception experience and a good working knowledge of EPOS systems (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work under pressure independently.
