Lead the team which comprises 10 FTE direct reports spread out across the country.

Deploy strategy, policies, process and procedures, which allow the effective internal regulation and oversight within Nuclear Operations and supporting activities by Nuclear Services.

Promote continuous improvement and excellence and ensure that company activities are carried out with full regard to Nuclear Site Licence requirements, WANO PO&Cs, other statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures, safety rules and quality management requirements.

Compile and present reports and provide insights to the INA Lead Team and senior staff when necessary.

Work within the INA Lead Team and provide challenge/influence in decision making where appropriate.

Coach and develop team to deliver agreed team and individual targets aligned to the INA business plan.

Chair training committee and be a key member in the oversight of material development.

Undertake the Training Committee responsibilities acting as chair and oversight point of contact for the material development, delivery and evaluation.

Manage the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the team business plan and budget, including succession management and transfer of knowledge across the team.

Co-ordinate the output of internal regulatory insights from the INA Programme Leads to influence the INA reporting to the INA Lead Team and wider business.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in independent oversight, fleet management, nuclear power station operational life cycles, and quality management systems. You will have a strong background in safety leadership, safety culture oversight, and working with regulatory bodies such as ONR, EA, or SEPA. You thrive in building relationships and can effectively communicate complex observations and data in a clear, impactful way. With a keen, inquisitive mindset, you understand the weight of your decisions on the safety and success of the organization.

You are degree-qualified in a technical or engineering field with strong knowledge of nuclear, environmental, and radiological safety. You have excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills, and apply human performance tools and safety culture principles. With experience in regulatory processes and nuclear plant systems, you can drive team performance and assess compliance effectively. Leadership experience and familiarity with organizational change standards and international peer reviews are a plus.

We are seeking a dynamic leader to manage a central team dedicated to providing independent assurance of compliance and driving excellence in safe nuclear power plant operations. In this role, you will oversee the analysis of fleet and central support function compliance with site licences, industrial regulations, and WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) Performance Objectives & Criteria (PO&C), ensuring high standards and continuous improvement across all operations.

This role will be working in our INA (Independent Nuclear Assurance) team. We are flexible with location and you will be working in the office/on-site 2 -3 days a week, with some travel across the fleet required.
