Then an Apprenticeship with Essity could be for you! Our Apprenticeship programmes have become well established over many years within our various sites in the UK, and we are proud to see the success and development of the employees who began their career on our apprenticeship programmes.
This apprenticeship programme leads to a nationally recognised qualification - Maintenance Engineering Operative Technician (PEO Level 2, BTEC Level 3) (with possibility to move to HNC). Upon completion of the course, you will be encouraged to apply for a position at one of our sites. You will report directly to our Training Lead, who along with his team will invest time and effort in helping you make the most out of this opportunity. You will also have a dedicated mentor who will help you succeed at work and at college.
During your apprenticeship you will learn to work in an efficient and confidential way, and develop skills such as:
- Shadow/Support RST & Shift Technicians on day to day breakdowns & maintenance.
- Be proactive in looking for improvements/defects on the machinery.
- Help in the completion and managing of Electrical CIL's.
- Help in the completion and managing of Electrical Defects.
- Align with ACT team and carry out maintenance tasks on dedicated maintenance days.
- Attend daily priority setting meetings on the relevant line you are working on.
- Attend all maintenance related meetings (Priority setting, debrief).
- Document all work completed in the correct channels.
- Get involved in small works projects within converting.
- Complete BOS tours and all monthly safety qualifications.
We'll provide all of the tools to help you succeed. In return, we ask you to bring your enthusiasm and passion to learn and develop.
You will have a minimum of 4 GCSE qualifications at standard grade C/grade 5 or above, including Maths and English. You will be committed, focused and keen to learn and develop. You should have the ability to be flexible and manage time effectively across multiple priorities. You will demonstrate problem solving skills and resilience, along with confidence and the ability to challenge the status quo. Clear and strong communication skills are essential, and you should be happy to work as part of a team. Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages is also required.
