This is a lead management role within Performance & Informatics responsible for elective RTT pathway development, implementation and management of processes and systems to provide assurance that the Trust is managing access to patient services appropriately. The post has key functions as a Trust expert on Patient Access policies and is responsible for leading on the development and maintenance of operational procedures in accordance with national guidelines. The post holder will work with Clinical Groups to provide governance and challenge against national standards and key performance indicators taking necessary action to ensure that they are delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Head of Elective Care in planning, development and redesign of services and processes to lead improvements of RTT developments.
- Responsible for the development, delivery and sustainability of training packages around elective RTT. Ensuring all staff are competent on the delivery of national rules and pathway management.
- Line manage teams directly responsible for the delivery of elective RTT pathways: Patient Access Team.
- Provide key support and resource to Clinical Groups in the operational management and delivery of performance against elective RTT pathway targets.
- Provide assurance to the Trust on compliance of policy and performance reporting for elective RTT pathways.
- Deputise accordingly for the Head of Elective Care for internal and external commitments as required.
- Maintain a skilled Patient Access team who are able to provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the Trust in performance management.
- Achieve improvement in the completeness and accuracy of data recording and ensure RTT data quality processes are in place.
- Produce and facilitate a robust audit programme to ensure local and Trustwide accurate data capture and adherence to local and national rules and standards.
- Regularly monitor access targets for the Trust and provide papers/reports to senior managers and Trust Board on RTT aspects.
- Work with Informatics and IT application management teams in ensuring systems fully support accurate pathway management for internal and external reporting.
- Attend and chair necessary meetings working with the Director of Performance & Informatics to provide governance and assurance on elective care RTT pathways.
- Provide leadership and motivation to the Patient Access team, supporting their personal and professional development.
- Formulate and be responsible for the implementation and review of the Trust Patient Access Policies.
- Analyse complex problems with regards to pathway management and work with clinical services to devise practical and workable solutions.
- Responsibility for the budget within your team regularly reviewing establishments and skill mix to ensure they are effectively managed.
- Undertake project work as and when required to support the delivery of local and national performance targets.
