Role Summary
The role of Kubernetes / Hybrid Cloud Engineer is a technical dev‑ops engineering position that involves designing, building, and managing on‑premises, hybrid, or cloud‑optimised IT infrastructure services to support real‑time high‑performance container‑based workloads. The engineer reports to a strategic product team and participates in multi‑functional meetings to translate business requirements into technical solutions delivered in an agile manner.
What you’ll be doing
- Ownership of Kubernetes and Hybrid Cloud design, build engineering, and development activities to deliver global cloud‑native container platform outputs.
- Deployment and test planning and execution for container platform capabilities and features.
- Providing design, engineering, and code reviews that emphasize detail and quality.
- Acting as a Kubernetes / Hybrid Cloud knowledge champion and upskilling squad members and other teams.
- Applying problem‑structuring and solving skills across complex multi‑layered environments, resolving issues with vendor or tenant teams.
- Reviewing potential new products and championing projects within LSEG.
- Managing changing requirements in a fluid environment with short‑notice priorities.
- Maintaining, configuring, and validating Kubernetes Hybrid Cloud Platform development changes across Development, Test, and Live environments.
- Providing consultancy to colleagues deploying applications on the new platform and onboarding them as tenants.
- Communicating with platform architects and product owners to articulate business challenges and feature requirements in the container platform networking space.
What you’ll bring
- Real‑life experience and a willingness to learn and grow rapidly.
- Ability to present to senior management in fluent business‑level English.
- Proven enterprise Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud‑native network engineering experience in large production environments.
- Hands‑on experience with EKS Kubernetes and Cilium‑based CNI skills.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes pipeline‑driven deployments and automated testing.
- Recent Linux experience, particularly with Ubuntu.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting full‑stack platforms, especially Linux‑based systems and latency‑optimised applications.
- IP routing and network service knowledge.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Proficiency with Git‑based pipelines and coding practices.
- Ability to manage multiple activities within specific timelines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, and scripting.
- Test automation experience (framework creation, infra testing).
- Familiarity with Agile / CICD tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab.
