Senior Fund Accountant

Location: London (or flexible UK-based) 6 month FTC

Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

An established and growing private equity platform is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of mid-market investment strategies, supporting the financial management and reporting of multiple funds.

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls, and supporting investor and regulatory requirements. The position involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day fund accounting operations across several private equity structures
  • Account for investment transactions, including acquisitions and realisations
  • Review management fee and carried interest calculations in line with fund documentation
  • Prepare quarterly accounts, capital statements, and internal reporting packs
  • Support investor activity, including capital calls and distributions
  • Lead preparation of annual financial statements under relevant GAAP (e.g. UK, US, Luxembourg)
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, legal teams, and other external stakeholders
  • Assist with tax reporting and regulatory compliance requirementsProvide data and analysis to support investment activity
  • Respond to investor and internal queries in a timely manner
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations

Key Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • 3-5 years' post-qualified experience within private equity or alternative asset management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel and general IT proficiency
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements
