We are currently supporting a leading trading venue in the search for a Senior Compliance Officer. This is a key role within a growing and dynamic organisation focused on enhancing regulatory standards and supporting the evolution of electronic trading across global markets.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and act as a trusted advisor to the business on a wide range of compliance matters, with a particular focus on regulatory engagement, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Compliance contact for business lines and support functions
- Provide expert regulatory advice and escalate to the Chief Compliance Officer as needed
- Lead regulatory interactions and manage the drafting and submission of notifications
- Support new business initiatives and regulatory change projects
- Oversee the financial crime framework and collaborate with on-boarding teams
- Maintain and enhance firm-wide risk assessments tailored to business complexity
- Develop and refine management information for internal committees and governance bodies
- Identify compliance risks in new initiatives and implement mitigating controls
- Coordinate regulatory issue assessments and manage communications with regulators
- Prepare and present compliance updates to Boards and senior stakeholders
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in financial services compliance or control functions
- Strong background in regulated electronic trading platforms, market infrastructure, or post-trade services
- Deep understanding of MiFID II, including algorithmic trading, market abuse, outsourcing, and reporting obligations
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
- Proven experience in drafting regulatory notifications and managing regulator relationships
- Knowledge of UK and EU financial regulation; familiarity with other global regulatory frameworks is a plus
