Job Overview
Our Wealth Markets Group provides bespoke, institutional‑grade securities advisory and trading solutions to private clients, high‑net‑worth individuals, and family offices. This Director role focuses on Fixed Income leadership and cross‑asset delivery, driving revenue growth and strengthening Citi’s position in the private wealth space.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
- Fixed Income Leadership & Strategic Execution
- Lead Fixed Income specialist for the desk, driving advanced advisory and trading solutions.
- Achieve significant P&L and revenue targets using sophisticated trading, hedging, and client‑focused strategies.
- Provide market commentary, research and trade ideas that influence desk positioning and client decisions.
- Cross‑Asset Delivery & Client Portfolio Management (Equities, Derivatives, Credit)
- Manage and grow a dedicated client base of 20‑30 long‑term accounts, delivering advisory and execution across all asset classes.
- Execute equity and credit strategies, demonstrating deep market knowledge.
- Drive sales initiatives, cross‑sell and up‑sell across the firm’s product suite.
- Originate and close complex investment proposals and new account pitches.
- Integrate Citi Research insights into client recommendations.
- Strategic Impact & Risk Management
- Maintain rigorous risk management, ensuring alignment with client tolerances and firm standards.
- Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding the firm’s reputation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policy, and ethical standards.
- Contribute to strategic application of market developments.
- Platform Development & Internal Engagement
- Assist in IT projects to improve the trading and advisory platform.
- Enhance connectivity between Markets and Private Bank clients.
- Participate in morning meetings and sales calls.
- Communication & Influence
- Use communication and diplomacy to influence colleagues and external customers.
- Provide advice related to technology or operations impacting the area.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience
- Progressive execution and advisory experience in financial services, especially private client wealth management.
- Leadership in Fixed Income and execution across equity, fixed income and credit products, including equity derivatives and light exotic products.
- Client origination and relationship management for high‑net‑worth clients and family offices.
- Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- RDR Level 4 minimum required.
- Skills
- Commercial awareness and proactive mindset.
- Advanced knowledge of Fixed Income market mechanics and valuation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills to support trading platforms.
- Ability to build relationships across functions and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
