About the Role
The United Kingdom, Ireland and Netherlands C&RS Sales Team for Financial Institutions focuses on selling S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, CreditPro, Credit Analytics, and Scorecards to a broad base of client companies.
The Impact
As a Sales Specialist you will drive growth for our Credit & Risk Solutions business by helping Financial Institutions solve complex market and credit risk challenges with market‑leading data, analytics, and workflow solutions. You will build trusted relationships with clients, ensure our solutions remain relevant to changing market conditions, and deliver an excellent client experience across teams.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent service to existing and potential customers, building trusted relationships through active listening and a clear understanding of client needs
- Identify and execute growth opportunities to meet or exceed individual growth goals/quotas
- Plan and execute targeted sales campaigns with a structured and disciplined approach
- Maintain accurate sales activity records, ensure pipeline accuracy, and provide reliable forecasts to support business planning
- Identify and develop revenue synergy and cross‑sell opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of industry and economic events impacting clients and the relevance of products, using that insight to position solutions effectively
- Collaborate closely with team members and internal stakeholders, including Product Experts, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, and Client Support teams, to achieve common goals and deliver end‑to‑end solutions for clients
- Take initiative to identify and address day‑to‑day challenges, suggest process improvements, and adapt your approach as client and market needs evolve
- Coach and support colleagues where appropriate by sharing knowledge, best practices, and existing guidance across the sales process
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in selling Market Data to Financial Institutions (advantage) and knowledge of Credit Risk and fixed‑income markets (advantage)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of principles and practices within solution‑based sales, with the ability to exercise sound decision‑making authority over your day‑to‑day work
- Ability to communicate fairly complex product, commercial, and market information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and build productive stakeholder relationships
- Consistent track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing priorities effectively, and meeting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and operate effectively within established policies and procedures
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in‑person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling credit risk, fixed income, ratings, or related market data and analytics solutions
- Knowledge of Financial Institutions across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement creative, commercially effective solutions
- Demonstrated curiosity about market developments, client challenges, and innovation within the Credit & Risk Solutions space
- Experience supporting or informally coaching colleagues through sharing sales knowledge, market insight, and practical guidance
